Fiverr Fee Calculator: What You Really Pay at Checkout
Enter the gig price, any extras you add later, and a tip. Fiverr charges its service fee on each payment separately.

| Payment | Amount | Service fee | You pay |
|---|
Fiverr adds a 5.5% service fee to each payment, plus $3.50 on payments under $200. Extras added after the order starts and tips are separate payments, so each one is charged again. Tax may be added depending on where you live. Tip: order extras with the gig to pay the small-order fee only once.
What a Fiverr gig really costs at each price
Client side: Fiverr’s help center states a 5.5% service fee on the purchase amount, plus $3.50 on orders under $200. Freelancer side: the freelancer receives 80% of the cleared payment, and funds clear after 14 days (shorter for some programs such as Top Rated or Pro). Rules checked 2026-10-29.

| Gig price | Client pays | Fees on top | Freelancer receives (80%) | Fiverr keeps in total |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $5 | $8.78 | $3.78 (76%) | $4.00 | $4.78 |
| $10 | $14.05 | $4.05 (41%) | $8.00 | $6.05 |
| $25 | $29.88 | $4.88 (20%) | $20.00 | $9.88 |
| $50 | $56.25 | $6.25 (13%) | $40.00 | $16.25 |
| $100 | $109.00 | $9.00 (9%) | $80.00 | $29.00 |
| $199 | $213.45 | $14.45 (7.3%) | $159.20 | $54.25 |
| $200 | $211.00 | $11.00 (5.5%) | $160.00 | $51.00 |
| $500 | $527.50 | $27.50 (5.5%) | $400.00 | $127.50 |
Two things stand out. Under about $25, the flat $3.50 is most of the fee. And a $199 order costs the client $2.45 more than a $200 order, because the $3.50 small-order fee stops at $200.
How much does Fiverr take?
On a $10 gig the client pays $14.05 and the freelancer receives $8.00, so Fiverr keeps $6.05, or 43% of what the client paid. On a $100 gig Fiverr keeps $29.00 of $109.00 (27%). From $200 up, it settles at about 24% ($51.00 of $211.00). Tax can be added on top for clients in some countries, and freelancers may pay withdrawal fees depending on the payout method.
Extras and tips: the same order, two prices
Example: a $20 gig, a $10 extra, and a $5 tip. Fiverr says tips are charged with the standard service fee and are separate transactions.
- Extra bought later: $24.60 for the gig + $14.05 for the extra + $8.78 for the tip = $47.43
- Extra ordered with the gig: $35.15 for a $30 order + $8.78 for the tip = $43.93
Ordering the extra at checkout saves one $3.50 small-order fee. Each later extra and each tip under $200 adds another one.
Ways to pay less on Fiverr
- Choose the package that already includes what you need instead of adding extras after the order starts.
- If you order regularly from one freelancer, ask for one custom offer covering several pieces of work: one payment means one small-order fee.
- Near $200, compare totals: any order from about $197 to $199.99 costs the client more than a $200 order.
- Check the checkout breakdown: Fiverr shows price, taxes and fees before you pay.
